Unemployment insurance
Never before in EPI’s history has our work on jobs and unemployment been more critical, or more widely recognized, than it was over the past two years: a period marked by persistently high unemployment, reduced hours and lost wages. The unemployment rate has been at or above 9% for close to two years and more than 16% of the country’s workers are either unemployed or underemployed.
