Program on Race, Ethnicity and the Economy (PREE)

The Program on Race, Ethnicity, and the Economy (PREE) at EPI explores and explains how race, ethnicity, and class intersect to affect economic outcomes in the United States.

PREE’s frequently cited research and policy analysis demonstrate that large racial and ethnic disparities in unemployment, wages, income, poverty, and wealth have persisted over generations; differ by class and gender; and are rooted in policy choices—including the failure to enact needed policies. By interpreting broad economic trends and policies through the lenses of race, ethnicity, and gender, PREE bolsters EPI’s mission to use research and policy analysis to advance policy solutions that ensure truly equitable and broadly shared prosperity and opportunity in the United States.
