Notes: "Initial approvals" represents approved USCIS petitions for H-2A and H-2B workers who were approved for new employment and a new visa, and “continuing approvals” represents USCIS petitions for H-2A and H-2B workers approved for continuing employment (i.e., extensions of status with the same employer, change of employment conditions with the same employer, or a change of employer), as reported in the USCIS H-2A and H-2B Employer Data Hubs. USCIS data on continuing employment for H-2A and H-2B petitions do not distinguish between the number of workers who changed employers or extended with the same employer or changed employment conditions with the same employer. Fiscal year 2023 data for H-2A were not available at the time of writing.
