Congressional Budget Office (CBO), The 2018 Long-Term Budget Outlook (June 2018). Average income is taken directly from CBO 2018 projections of GDP growth. Average income after taxes takes projected post-tax income from CBO 2018 and further subtracts out the growth in spending. Average income after taxes and health spending further strips out the projections for total health spending economywide, following estimates from CBO 2018.
