On Wednesday, October 17, at 12 p.m. Eastern, the Economic Policy Institute and Notre Dame’s Keough School of Global Affairs will host a discussion exploring the evolving alliances in today’s trade debates and how trade issues will affect midterm elections.

Tamara Kay, associate professor of global affairs and sociology at Notre Dame’s Keough School of Global Affairs, will share findings from her new book Trade Battles: Activism and the Politicization of International Trade Policy. A panel will examine how civil society groups have aligned to influence international trade in recent years, particularly around the newly-negotiated USMCA, and share insights on the role of trade in the U.S. midterm elections.
