Share of national top 1% income is the total income of families in the metro area who are in the national top 1%, as a share of all national top 1% income in the U.S. Panel B shows the 10 metro areas with the highest concentrations of national top 1% income (measured as the ratio of the metro area’s national top 1% share to the metro area’s total income share). Incomes are in 2015 dollars. Data are for tax units. Threshold for entering the national top 1% in 2015 was $421,926.
