After two years of job growth, how does this recovery compare?

The continuing good news from the BLS jobs report marks two full years of job growth.  In today’s Jobs Picture, EPI economist Heidi Shierholz uses this anniversary to examine how the current recovery stacks up against other recent recoveries.  Jobs fell much further and faster during the Great Recession than in the prior two recessions, but job growth just slightly lags behind the job growth following the recession of 1990 and is actually faster than the recovery following the recession of 2001.  Click here for full analysis.
