Statement by EPI economist on Congressional approval of three trade agreements

In response to yesterday’s approval of Free Trade Agreements with South Korea, Colombia and Panama by Congress, Robert E. Scott, Economist and Director of Trade and Manufacturing Policy Research at the Economic Policy Institute released this statement: 

With fourteen million unemployed, these deals will only further burden our domestic economy, which is already teetering on the brink of another recession.
