On July 22, 2010, EPI President Lawrence Mishel described the outlook for employment in testimony before the House Committee on Financial Services.
“The nation’s current jobs crisis is severe and there will be continued high unemployment through the end of 2011,” he said. “It is incumbent upon Congress to act on a scale that will produce millions of jobs in order to put unemployment on a steep downward path.”
