On Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. ET, Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), Rep. Sandy Levin (D-MI), Scott Paul (President, Alliance for American Manufacturing) and Robert Scott (economist, Economic Policy Institute) will hold a media teleconference to discuss how the United States could create 5.8 million jobs if it acted to end currency manipulation, as found in an upcoming EPI report.  They will also detail how ending currency manipulation would yield significant job gains for each state within three years, with a major impact on manufacturing job growth.

In Stop Currency Manipulation and Create Millions of Jobs, which will be released prior to the call, Robert Scott, EPI Director of Trade and Manufacturing Policy Research, explains that currency manipulation is the primary cause of the nation’s $703 billion annual goods trade deficit, a massive imbalance that has harmed American manufacturing.
