Today, EPI and the Economic Analysis and Research Network (EARN) are launching earn.us, a new digital home for EARN’s nationwide network of research and advocacy organizations and a resource for lawmakers, media, and individuals interested in regional, state, and local progressive policy solutions. Founded in 1998 with the support of the Economic Policy Institute, EARN is a network of more than 60 state and local organizations in 44 states, along with national partners, that share expertise in order to pursue their common mission—empowering working people to achieve a better economic future.
Earn.us contains an easily searchable database of research and policy solutions on key policy issues that impact working people, such as the minimum wage, criminal justice reform, education, and economic development. The website also has directory of EARN’s state and national partners with their recent publications and contact information.
“As EARN celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, the timely, fact-based progressive policy work that our members do in states and cities across the country is needed now more than ever,” said Dianne Stewart, Director of EARN and Network Engagement. “Our new website will be a comprehensive resource to journalists, policy makers, and community advocates alike.”
EARN affiliates are advocating for progressive policies and scoring victories throughout the country. The Georgia Budget and Policy Institute promotes People Powered Prosperity, Policy Matters Ohio shows A New Way Forward, the West Virginia Center on Budget and Policy backs pay hikes for striking teachers, Pennsylvania’s Keystone Research Institute introduces a path to high-wage manufacturing jobs. Earn.us will also feature state-level victories such as the Economic Opportunity Institute in Washington securing paid family and medical leave for the state, and the Texas Center for Public Policy Priorities helping win paid sick leave in Austin—a first in the South.
