The Economic Policy Institute has launched Federal Policy Watch, an online tool to document actions by the Trump administration, Congress, federal agencies, and the courts that affect working people and the economy. Maintained by a team of economists and lawyers, Federal Policy Watch will serve as a one-stop shop for cataloguing and analyzing legislation, regulations, executive orders, and court rulings as they unfold.
Already, the tracker documents and explains the actions on immigration coming from the Trump administration. Federal Policy Watch will focus on a range of issues, including workers’ rights, unions, and organizing; race and gender equity; jobs and wages; health and safety; retirement security; trade; taxes; and attacks on regulations. Notably, Federal Policy Watch will allow users to track whether new proposals were developed by the nongovernmental Department of Government Efficiency or if they parallel policies outlined in Project 2025.
“Our tracker will shine a light on new policies and help advocates, voters, and the media answer the question of whether policymakers’ actions help the wealthy or everyday Americans,” said Celine McNicholas, EPI’s director of policy and government affairs/general counsel who leads the new project.
