EPI research associate Richard Rothstein spoke about race-conscious government policies designed to segregate metropolitan areas in a presentation to the Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity division of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development on June 4, 2015. He was introduced by Assistant HUD Secretary Gustavo Velasquez, and followed by Sherrilyn Ifill, President and Director-Counsel of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund (LDF).
