EPI President Testifies on Policies that Do and Do Not Raise Wages and Create Jobs

EPI President Lawrence Mishel testified before the U.S. House Committee on Education and the Workforce on Wednesday, Feb 4, 2015. In his testimony, Mishel said actions such as raising the minimum wage to $12.50 by 2020, strengthening collective bargaining, updating overtime rules, and ending forced arbitration would accelerate wage growth. He also emphasized that ongoing wage stagnation cannot be offset by one-time reductions in personal taxes.
