EPI economist Heidi Shierholz will testify before the Joint Economic Committee on Wed. June 18, 2014 on 2 p.m. at a hearing entitled, “Empowerment in the Workplace.” The hearing will be in room 2016 in the Hart Senate Office Building.

At this hearing, the Committee will examine how workplace practices and rules affect productivity, economic growth and living standards for U.S. workers.

Ms. Shierholz will testify about policies to boost workers’ earnings and labor force participation and actions that can be taken to ensure fair pay and stronger benefits for workers.
