Maximize women’s economic security: Pass the Women’s Economic Agenda

Thank you for signing our petition telling Congress that closing the wage gap and raising all workers’ wages is critical to creating an economy that works for all Americans, not just the wealthy few.

Help spread the word! Share this critical message with family and friends and encourage them sign the Women’s Economic Agenda.

Subject: This anniversary highlights why inequality exists in America

Hi,

January 29th marks the anniversary of the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009; a reminder that a significant pay gap still exists between men and women in the United States.

Women at the median made 83 percent of the male median hourly wage of $18.35 in 2014, up from 63 percent in 1979. Though the wage gap has narrowed, 40 percent of that narrowing was because men’s wages fell.

Please join me in signing the petition to Congress urging them to adopt EPI’s Women’s Economic Agenda, which addresses the gender wage gap and raises wages of all workers:

Maximize women’s economic security: Pass the Women’s Economic Agenda

Sincerely,
