News from EPI Paul Booth’s work lives on

The Economic Policy Institute will miss our friend, our partner, and our brother, Paul Booth, who passed away last night after a lifetime of fighting for worker rights and social justice.

Paul brought joy and energy into every room and every battle. He was focused, indefatigable, and mischievous. Whether he was on the front lines organizing, or in the back room strategizing, he was a powerful ally and a wise counselor. He served on EPI’s executive board, guiding and supporting our efforts to fight for higher wages for workers and civil rights for all. Paul was a force of nature—fearless in the face of corporate titans or political adversaries.

We will miss his strength, his sage advice, and his friendship. We send our deepest condolences to Paul’s beloved wife Heather and the extended Booth family.

To learn more about Paul’s life, read this tribute from EPI’s former President Lawrence Mishel and former Vice President Ross Eisenbrey, from Paul’s retirement from AFSCME last year.
