Right now in America, many salaried workers earning $23,660 or more per year (as little as $455 per week) are not eligible for overtime pay. That is why the Economic Policy Institute is urging the Department of Labor to change these outdated rules and update the salary threshold to at least $50,000, which is the 1975 level adjusted for inflation.
