Subject: Help millions of Americans get overtime pay

Hi,

I told the Department of Labor that the overtime rules should be updated so more salaried workers can get paid when they work long hours, and you should too. Join over 120,000 of us in submitting a comment urging the Department of Labor to reform outdated overtime rules.

The comment period closes this Friday, September 4, and we need your help.

For over thirty-five years American workers’ wages have been stuck. And one significant way we can help raise Americans’ wages is to address outdated overtime rules. In 1975, the overtime salary threshold covered over 50% of salaried workers. Today, only 8% are covered. But thanks to the hard work of the Economic Policy Institute and other coalition partners, we’re on the verge of a major victory.

Last month, the Department of Labor proposed an update to overtime rules. If implemented, the rule change would increase the overtime salary threshold from $23,660 to $50,440, helping 13.5 million workers by securing their right to receive the overtime pay they deserve.
