In Budgeting Tradeoffs: A dizzying pivot from stimulus to austerity, Federal Budget Policy Analyst Andrew Fieldhouse examines how Congress has rapidly flipped from prioritizing job creation to prioritizing deficit-reduction efforts that will impede the economic recovery.  The stimulative impact of December’s tax compromise is in danger of being drastically reduced.  Furthermore, the fiscal cost of the tax deal is being used to justify irresponsible cuts to public investments that will hurt working Americans without lowering deficits.
