Rising unemployment, falling health care coverage

A new report from the Census Bureau is expected to show a rise in the number of Americans who don’t have health insurance, resulting in part from rising unemployment. While many people who lose their jobs lose their health insurance with it, EPI research has also highlighted a decline in health care coverage among the employed population: Even among full-time workers, 17% do not have insurance and more than one-third of the uninsured work full time. –Andrea Orr
