Notes: Minimum wage and Medicaid expansion values are updated to 2022 while unionization, unemployment insurance recipiency rate, and incarceration rate are for 2021. While South Dakota did successfully vote via ballot initiative to expand Medicaid in November 2022, the change will not be implemented until 2023, so South Dakota is still classified as a “No Medicaid expansion” state.
