The US trade deficit with China is based on USITC data from Table 1 which uses customs values for imports. Calculating the US trade deficit with China using UN comtrade data yields a slightly larger result, as CIF values are used instead. TPP countries' trade surpluses with the United States are also calculated from USITC data, while TPP countries' trade balances with china are calculated using UN comtrade data.
