The National Employment Law Project has compiled this fact sheet on the Unemployment Insurance Modernization Act, now before Congress and being considered as part of an economic recovery package. Because of outdated restrictions, only about 37% of jobless workers today are able to collect the temporary benefits provided by this Depression-era program.
