Podcast: “Not your typical recession”

On February 2, 2010, Policy Analyst Rebecca Thiess spoke with reporters about her new paper, The Great Recession’s Long Tail.

Thiess said that the Great Recession was “not your typical recession,” since it combined a recession with a financial crisis, and left the labor market three years later “in a fundamentally different place than we’d typically find ourselves 36 months out.”
