Unprecedented Income Inequality

Our economy is fostering a very unbalanced recovery: A historically high share of income is going into profits and more of this type of income is held by the richest households than at any other time since the government began tracking such trends.

In today’s Snapshot, EPI president Lawrence Mishel and senior economist Jared Bernstein analyze newly released data from the Bureau of Economic Analysis and the Congressional Budget Office which reveal just how skewed the distribution of economic growth has been over this recovery.
