September 1, 2005: Report Charts Basic Living Costs In Hundreds Of Areas

What does it cost to raise a family in the US today? The Economic Policy Institute’s newly updated basic family budget calculator makes it easy to find out. The online calculator, which includes data for over 400 communities nationwide, uses the latest government data to give a picture of what it costs for families of various sizes to attain a decent yet modest standard of living.
