The United Steelworkers recently filed a petition with the U.S Trade Representative, accusing China of illegally stimulating and protecting its producers of green technology exports, ranging from wind and solar energy products to advanced batteries and energy-efficient vehicles. After the USTR opened an investigation, EPI International Economist Robert Scott submitted comments outlining how Chinese trade practices “pose a direct threat to the recovery of U.S. manufacturing.”
