Older workers delay retirement despite weak economy
In the past, older workers tended to take early retirement
during downturns. But that did not happen in the 2001 recession,
nor is it happening now as the economy weakens. This is illustrated
in today’s Snapshot
by EPI economist Monique
Morrissey, who also looks at what caused the reversal.
