A Budget Informed by the Past, Present, and Future of the Economy: Josh Bivens at the Peterson Fiscal Summit

EPI Research and Policy Director Josh Bivens talks about creating a budget based on lessons of inequality in the past, recovery in the present, and priorities for the future.

From the Peter G. Peterson Foundation: America’s economic recovery is finally taking hold and current deficits are down from the record highs during the recession. At the same time, far too many American families are being left out of the recovery, and our nation still faces an unsustainable long-term fiscal outlook. It is in this context – with progress made, but serious work still to be done – that we will hold our sixth-annual Fiscal Summit, convening leading experts and policymakers to explore the economic and fiscal opportunity in America at this key transitional moment.
