Three new reports on retirement security
EPI's latest Agenda for Shared Prosperity event included the release of three new reports on retirement security. Teresa Ghilarducci (New School for Social Research) discussed her new briefing paper, Guaranteed Retirement Accounts, a plan that combines the best features of traditional defined-benefit pensions and 401(k)-style defined-contribution plans. Nancy Altman (Pension Rights Center) contributed a briefing paper on Protecting Social Security's Beneficiaries, and Virginia Reno (National Academy of Social Insurance) presented her briefing paper about Building on Social Security's Success. Thirty-two EARN groups release state-level State of Working America reports
Each year, the Economic Analysis and Research Network (EARN) staff provides a wealth of data to state-level EARN groups that help to provide a local perspective on economic trends facing working families. These reports, written and published by state groups with EPI's support, offer valuable state-level analysis that augments the national information contained in EPI's biennenial State of Working America. In 2007, over 30 groups released a State of Working... report for their own state, making it our most successful release to date. Current and archived State of Working... reports can be found at EARN's Web site.
