GDP needs a new shot of stimulus

The U.S. economy could use some more stimulus, according to the analysis of EPI economist Josh Bivens in today’s GDP Picture.  The slow growth reported today by the Commerce Department “is a recipe for job loss, rising unemployment, and falling wages,” said Bivens.  “Without another more effective stimulus package, future GDP reports will be unlikely to surpass the low bar set by this one.”
